Lakhbir Virk is employed as Senior Diversity Consultant at Focus Consultancy Ltd, Europe's leading diversity and change management consultancy. Her specialist area of expertise is education and equality. Prior to Focus, Lakhbir has worked extensively in the compulsory, post-school and adult education sectors in the UK. Between 1997 and 2001 she was the Director of the Centre for Race, Culture and Education, based in the School of Education at Leeds Metropolitan University. Currently she is working to establish a dedicated Education Unit within Focus Consulatncy to deliver the increasing demand for consultancy services from educational clients, who include: The Department for Education and Skills, the Learning and Skills Council, Higher Education Funding Council, various Local Education Authorities and universities.
